Joanna + Noel // Queenstown Pre-wedding

The more I photograph on film, the more I realise I am forever trying to tweak my digital files like film. As much as I try, there is always something unique and different about photographing in film format. I can never do it - replicating film on digital. I have watched countless YouTube editing videos and paid for a thousand presets (okay that's an exaggeration) that proclaim that their edits are like film but you know what I mean. There's that margin of error that results in a flaw - a beautiful flaw.

I guess the same can be said about marriages. As much as we all want our marriage to be perfect, it is not. There is no such thing as no misunderstandings. No quarrels. No such thing as 'happily ever after'. Erin, my wife, and I have our quarrels. Having a child at home does not help haha. But like shooting film - we find beauty in ironing out our issues (most times LOL), and the issues become non-issues. And we level up. We understand each other a little more each quarrel. I am no marriage guru, but when you take the step to see it from the other's perspective, however hard it may be, things will only get better.

Another similarity? Film is expensive. Just like marriages LOL! Have a great week ahead yall.
