OUR MOTTO
Weddings are not meant to be perfect. We should try to always ‘embrace the messiness’ of the wedding day and relive the moments through the photographs that we seek to capture for you.
About us
Bottled Groove Photography started as a husband-and-wife team in 2016, and officially registered as a company in 2019.
Eugene, the lead photographer, first picked up photography when he was based in Bangkok for two years. He has since been actively involved in event photography and primarily weddings for the past seven years. Recently, he has revisited film photography and is currently implementing it in his wedding work. Erin works primarily behind the scenes and is the spine of the company.
In 2020 and 2022, Levin and Dexter joined the team respectively, followed by Elle in 2024 and Zhi Heng in 2025.
Bottled Groove Photography's focus is to document your wedding day, so that you may invoke precious memories and retell your story a decade or two in the future to your loved ones. They believe that everyone should embrace the messiness of a wedding day, as raw as they come.
And yes, photographs are time machines.
our style
Our purpose is to document the day as raw as it can be. There will be less scripting but more capturing of the day’s little moments, as mundane or as exciting as it is. That is what makes your wedding, truly yours.
If you are looking for someone to photograph over-scripted moments and capture plenty of beautiful photographs with bokeh (blurred-out background), thus projecting a beautiful front for your wedding, then maybe we’re not the right fit.
The images we produce are not going to win awards probably, but if you are looking for someone to document down and story-tell (with creative input of course) the genuine, honest progression of your wedding day, however, it may turn out to be, then look no further.
THE TEAM
-
Erin
THE SPINE
Erin wishes she was a photographer, but trust us, she is better as a florist. She can finish five cups of coffee a day and still feel sleepy.
Primarily, Erin will be the one handling your contracts and also dish out advice for your wedding planning if you need it. After all, she planned her own meticulously and lived to tell the tale.
-
Eugene
LEAD PHOTOGRAPHER
Eugene loves his coffee in the morning and is also slightly mad in the head. If he’s not editing or out photographing, you can find him at home chilling, on his PC & console games, watching Leeds United matches (a fanatic) and loves spending time with the family.
Eugene is very much a ‘feel-first, technique-second’ kind of photographer. His images are thoughtfully composed, blending documentary storytelling with street-style spontaneity. His approach is not just about documenting events, but crafting a visual experience that resonates emotionally with viewers.
-
Levin
SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER
Levin dabbles in all kinds of photography (well, except boudoir - if not his wife will not let him return home). He has over ten years of photography experience but his passion remains strong. When he is not out photographing, he can be usually be seen cycling around the Punggol estate with his family.
Levin’s work is elegant and understated, with each image carefully curated with intent. His style exudes a sense of timelessness and quiet sophistication, the kind of images you will come back to, year after year.
-
Dexter
SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER
Dexter loves listening to emo rock and Taylor Swift (yes, both) and is a self-proclaimed big chubby man child that still laughs at immature jokes. He is also an avid collector - buying every new Pokemon game available but never playing it.
Dexter’s style is bold, vibrant, and a little eclectic. He is drawn to light and shadow, unconventional framing, and little visual stories that speak louder than words.
-
Elle
ASSOCIATE PHOTOGRAPHER
Elle cries at vows, accidentally becomes besties with your ah ma, and usually wakes up the next day unable to move, exhausted from feeling everything, all at once. When not shooting, she is on a very serious quest to find the best spicy pork dumplings.
Elle photographs like a friend: all heart, no brakes. She is instinctively drawn to both the soft and the chaotic, chasing the moments you didn’t even know were happening. Her true identity? Part ninja (short, dressed in black, popping up in odd places), part softie with a camera.
-
Zhi Heng
JUNIOR PHOTOGRAPHER
As a former lifeguard, Zhi Heng observational skills comes in handy especially as a documentary based photographer.
Outside of photography, he is neck-deep into games such as Valorant and League of Legends. An extra tidbit is that he was once terrified of dogs but now find joy in photographing them - realising the best moments often unfold when you let it.
