“On paper, Hailee and Wenrui's wedding followed a familiar rhythm: gatecrash in the morning, tea ceremonies with family, and a celebration that brought everyone together by the evening.

But what stayed with me was the pace. There wasn't a tightly packed programme to keep everyone moving from one moment to the next. After dinner, people simply stayed. Conversations lingered, laughter travelled across tables, and friends and family had the time to catch up with one another.
