Them Feels
We love film photography. The nostalgic vibe to it. The feel of it. It is as if we are being transported back in time, a time of youth and innocence. A time when we had no fear, no worries, no burdens. A time of only good memories while growing up. Analogue photography never seems to go out of style, and long may it never.
Julia + Hui Ren // Keong Saik Street on Film
Always happy to be photographing familiar faces! This time, our graduated couple Julia and Hui Ren. Julia is also a fan of film and I am glad this time she’s behind the camera.
Francine + Dom // Bugis on Film
It was third-time lucky for Francine and Dominic, who had to postpone their pre-wedding shoot due to different reasons. It was incredibly fun to chat with them and find out that on top of our common interest in film, they also had the same taste in interior design as me!
Marie + Ghim Choon // Changi Village on Film
Marie and Ghim Choon is probably our wildest couple this year yet, by far. When I sent in the photos for development, I already had an inkling on how their photographs would turn out. It was totally, 100%, naturally them in full candor. We had only a little creative input and they were off on their way!
Dariel + Ron // Queenstown on Film
It is always a bonus of photographing at a place I’ve not shot before. Couple that with photographing on film and we have a double bliss! D + R wanted to explore their neighborhood and its surroundings, to capture little photographic momentos of their daily lives for the future, and I was more than happy to do so on the 35mm format.
Clara + Elvin // Chinatown on Film
Clara and Elvin wanted an old, nostalgic film photography session for their pre-wed session, reminiscent of 80s and 90s Hong Kong films in the mould of Wong Kar Wai style. After much shuffling back and forth with crazy ideas and venue discussions, we finally settled for Tiong Bahru and Chinatown.
Alyssa + Mike // Jalan Besar on Film
For all of its imperfections, I find perfection in the simplicity of photographing on film.
Because of how easy we can get out of focus photographs, blurred photographs or even rubbish light leaks, film photography is definitely not for everyone. But deep down, if you truly embrace the imperfections, then that makes you one of us.
Anqi + Gary // Bugis on Film
What is fun about the streetwalk on film is that we really would not know what we would uncover. It is sort of a risk versus reward kind of situation in which we might end up like with Gary and Anqi, at a vantage point not seen before situation.
Ningfei + Elizabeth // Golden Mile Tower on Film
As quirky and experimental as it can get - Ningfei and Elizabeth were such great peeps to photograph. We really let our hair down for this session at Golden Mile Tower.
Rujun + Steven // Changi Village on Film
Rujun and Steven’s brief was simple - they wanted to go wild in their gown and suit within the confined space of the gem of the east, Changi Village. We really ventured everywhere at Changi - including dropping by the hawker for a quick drink! The idea was to have fun, and fun they had.
