Featured photo on Rangefinder's Photos of the Week

A short one today. So I’ve recently had one of my photographs from Huimin and Clement’s couple portraiture featured on Rangefinder Magazine’s Photos of the Week. Rangefinder is an award-winning monthly magazine for wedding and portraiture photography that is based in New York.

The chosen photo of both Huimin and Clement in the MRT.

I think that submitting photos to publications is one thing, but to be chosen out of the hundreds of submissions is something else. It is very humbling.

Photography can be a humbling experience. It is.

Because no matter who says what, I always know not to believe your own hype. This advice, I often dish to my friends who are budding photographers as well. Yes, to show support, your family, your friends will always tell you how "good" your photos are. You'll get plenty of "likes" and "hearts". But the thing is - I will never, ever think that I am good enough, or my photos are good enough.

People who know me well know that I am obsessed. I constantly find ways to improve - reading books, watching YouTube, referencing top photographers and improvising your own way of doing things - and it will most probably continue till the day I stop.

To get selected on articles such as this on Rangefinder is good, but it is just a checkpoint for me to get better. It is just a "star sticker" if you will, in my journey to get a pass in my test.
