Quick thoughts on the latest setback

I just wanted to summarise my thoughts on the latest setback for us to move forwards. I know many couples feel lost (especially those who have postponed a few times already). For us, it's plain deja vu.

In general, I feel that the government is still doing a proper job managing the crisis, compared to the many other countries out there. We got to the point that we became complacent, bringing our children out to play, eating out, shopping and even attending events without the fear of infection. I know I know, there are plenty of things that they could do better, but can we blame them? For the latest set of implementations that were rolled out, different agencies were getting different instructions - and that makes our jobs harder. But it's NOTHING compared to what couples are going through. It's really crazy when I place myself in their shoes. For the couples to absorb last-minute costs, and the overwhelming load of info (sometimes inaccurate), it must be SUPER chaotic. I mean, the last thing we should do is to charge them more money for postponements or insurance (assurance?) for changing dates and instead assist couples in mitigating the damage. One can only hope the government can swiftly tide us through this latest round of outbreak again.

The whole issue on Covid also made me reflect on when I first started this journey. I took the time we can photograph people freely without masks, without spaces between them for granted. How I miss them. Even during Phase 2 and 3, I felt like I began to take things for granted.

I guess for us now, the only thing we can do is to be responsible for the safety of our family and ourselves. Please, stay home as much as possible to limit the spread of this round of outbreak. Please la hor please.

And for the couples still hanging on, please keep sane and stay strong!
